XC90B5 recall
 

Hi, just had a call from my dealer…..evidently a recall just been announced on XC90 B5 …. Need car for 2 days to fit new Turbo……anyone else or have further knowledge?

Just as a conformation for the people that this may affect, is the recall for the B5 Petrol or the B5 Diesel?

Hi, mine is diesel, not sure if petrol is affected, think it may be problem with turbo bearings, not sure if same turbo is used on both engines.

Doesn't look like B5P's (at least not mine, MY21) are impacted according to the Volvo recall checker.

Mine’s a B5 Diesel XC90, and I’ve put my VIN into the Volvo recall checker and it’s showing no outstanding recalls.
Mine’s a late 2020 (MY21).

I have had a few recalls carried out over the years and not once have I seen any on the voc recall checker.

Thanks. It’s in for its first year service in a fortnight so I’ll check with the dealer then.

Nothing showing on the Volvo recall checker for my B5 (D) registered Sept 2020. However I have become aware of recalls in the past on here way before being contacted by Volvo.

Found the answer……..

Problem description:

There is a risk of turbocharger breakdown, which could damage engine parts and lead to stalling.

The Volvo XC90 vehicles affected by this recall were equipped with diesel engines and manufactured between May and August 2019.

Volvo recall code: R10098
Affected models: Model (Chassis): XC60 (from 0410122 to 0468133) and XC90 (from 0530179 to 0556498)
Vehicle numbers (worldwide): 9,864
