I tend to do my own repairs these days so might be useless info.
If he is still in business pay Simon at Brookhouse on the Hadleigh Rd Ind estate a visit.
While he may not undertake repairs as such he has a wealth of parts and contacts as well as sound knowledge all round esp RWD Volvos, if anybody knows someone it will be him.
Only other place that is independent I can think of is Wrights in Attleborough, its in webbed foot County [I jest] but they used to have an ex Volvo mech, I am going back a few years though; I was in the area and stopped off to have a look at an 850R while in my 740T and got taking for a while about the older cars.
Happened to mention an ongoing weak handbrake issue and he told me about Volvo dealers upgrading pre face 740s in the early 90s, and I should swap to ALL 940 parts.
I did and handbrake has been perfect since, you kind of remember people like that.

Hi, I think I know what the issues are, I think the pcv is blocked resulting in the camshaft oil seal blowing. The cambelt was changed 30k ago which was 15 years ago lol.
So a new cambelt oil seal and a new pcv and hoses, I'm an electrician and changing the cambelt and seal is a bit past me....
I bought the car with a known issue which was supposed to be the exhaust gasket. On tick over she sounds fine bit is acceleration and you can hear the blow, on inspection it appears to be coming from the top cam belt cover.
I drove the car about 50 miles on deceleration she cut out I found the fuel regulator hose had a hole in it thinking that could be the issue but no fuel was coming out the end.
Looking for someone to give it a good going over and some TLC.
I'm taking a trip to lakes in Bedford to grab a few bits.
I might take a leap of faith and do the works myself🤞🤞.. The cars seem pretty straitforward to work on..he says...
Any pointer as to how much I should expect to pay for the above would be appreciated.

I think you would be looking to pay around £100 labour + parts for cambelt and all three seals ( no point in doing one while the belt is off )
Genuine Volvo cambelt is around £15 but I'm not sure on the price of seals. Luke will be able to tell you what they are from FRF as he got all three for me recently. If you do decide to do it yourself don't buy cheapo seals as it's false economy ! I've been reading a lot about aftermarket ones leaking after a few months recently

A new Volvo PCV box is £27 and you can deffo do that yourself

Being a 1995 it will have the egr junk in the way of the pcv box so it won't be as straight forward as most redblocks as you found out with trigger but still an easy enough job.

I can have a look in the morning for the price of seals, or if you're near your 740 the paperwork from FRF was in the front footwell for you :)

Cheers Guys, the price to do the cambelt and seals doesn't sound bad at all. I'm gonna have a go at the pcv myself, I have the box and genuine volve o ring.
It has a breather pipe and a larger plastic pipe to the inlet. Gonna see if I can get hold of new pipes.
Cheers guys
