Little plastic gear from volvo 940 cassette mechanism
2 Attachment(s)
Looking to ask for help from anyone with an old or knackard volvo 940 radio (like the one shown in the second attachment).
I really need this little gear (shown by the red arrow in the attachment below). It's really not hard to get out (i can provide instructions on how to do it) but unfortunately due to it's random teeth numbers I can't seem to find a replacement part anywhere so would really appreciate some help getting my cassette player back and working again! All the best, hope someone could help! |
I've got the exact same radio from my old 940 if you want it for £10+postage?
I'll be picking it up from my parents' house at the weekend :) I believe it's a CR-905 and I have the code for it too. Let me know either way Cheers |
I'm replacing my CR906 soon, I can send just the cog if you still need it.

A year on, I have exactly the same problem; that little gear has shed most of its teeth. I'm some way towards getting it out, but nervous of letting little springs go ping if I undo the wrong fasteners. Did you ever replace yours? Can you still provide instructions on how to get that gear out? (I've dismantled as far as your photo shows).
Thanks in advance. |
In this same situation! Don’t suppose anyone’s found a good replacement part

I've got a CR906 on the shelf, was working fine until I fitted a more modern unit, then sold the car.
I stupidly didn't note the code but the radio is free for the cost of postage. (With or without the black surround (one screw hole cracked internally). |

if you could pop me a PM with your phone number and how much you'd want for postage I'll text you my address (can't PM on the forum yet) |
