V40 Radio stereo set Radio code
 

I lost power in the car and the radio needed a code to reset it. I put in 1234 and the radio set came up with a message ''OFF''. Please what is the right code and moreover how can I take off the ''off'' message.

you must leave the ignition and radio switched on for 2 hours to remove the "off" display.
you are then allowed 3 attempts to input the radio code before it reverts to "off" again

I went to Doves in Gatwick (volvo delership) and asked for my code they told me I would have to pay £10 for it (previously told me it would be free). They are well known for ripping people off. Please could you help me out my reg is OE02 NPF V40
