shallow dents in rear door.

Hi some kind motorist has put two 2.5cm shallow dents in my rear door in a car park.
I was wondering i have a hand vacuum pump for checking vacuum engine mounts. Could i find some sort of suction head that could be adapted to work with the vacuum pump that could suck out the dents. Anybody got any suggestions or ideas i would be grateful.
James.

Very kind of that person... they're usually the sort to park right next to you in an empty car park. If I remember door dings are usually fixed by inserting a rod down the window slit and pushing out gently, and using a mirror against the bodywork to carefully align it. I guess there could be other techniques but I watched a pro fix my previous car in this way after someone had damaged it and they did a perfect job

Never tried it myself (never needed to, luckily); but I've heard that using the heat from a heat gun blown very judiciously over the area can expand the skin such that when it cools down, it pulls the dent out. And I watched a video (goodness know where) showing a guy actually doing it... successfully.
