Rear windscreen washer jet nozzle - V50 (2006 reg)
 

Hello and thank you for looking at this post.

The rear windscreen washer jet nozzle is cracked although still functioning fine at present and firmly in place.

Can this jet nozzle be renewed and are there instructions on how to do so anywhere?

I have searched for existing posts on this subject but found only posts referring to other models (eg ttp://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=65714&highlight=jet+nozzle).

So any views gratefully received.

Easy replacement.

Costs less than £5 from a dealer and you can pull the old one off with your fingers. If it is a little more stuck then as yours is already cracked you can just get a set of pliers on the case then pull upwards. I got mine off with my fingers but I know others that have ended up stripping interior to get to nozzle from underneath to push the retaining clips in but there is no need to go that length.

A bone tool and prise carefully updards is another route - DO NOT use a screwdriver as you just know sods law will strike again.

Stripping down would be preferable, so now searching for some instruction.

If you get hold of a new one first then you will se what is holding it in place and then you can make a decision to go down the strip or just pull out route. I'm guessing you'll go the pull out route.

Just don't foget to attach the washer water pipe piror to fitting the new nozzle.

The whereabouts of the hose is the concern. If the nozzle is pulled out without stripping down, could it become inaccessible within the bodywork. Hence the search for instructions about stripping down.

Your not likely to lose the connecting water pipe.

It is pretty well atached to the bottom of the nozzle and there is a little bit to spare to allow you to pull the nozzle away from the body of the car (an inch or two). It wont just suddenly fall inside the car never to be seen again. If it were to happen then you'de just have to go the strip down route but I'd cross that bridge if it were to happen as I'm sure it won't.
