Washed Fluid Dilution
Top up washer fluid light came on for first time since got the car in October 21.
Decided to buy the Volvo version. Is it really 50% water and 50% Volvo fluid? |
I can’t answer that question however I do use autoglym which allows you to dilute 15 to 1. The ‘optimum’ is 10 to one which makes it rather good value and it can be bought in bulk.

The chap from Service Dept said they poured in the entire bottle and topped up the bottle with water. I thinkk it does actually state the dilution requirements on the bottle. |

50% = -28 C 25% should do the UK -10 C 33% = -18 a very cold winter. I have seen it -20 C in UK in 1982 that's when your lack of proper coolant bursts your engine open ..!! |
I buy Tesco or Asda concentrated and run it undiluted all year round. £2 or £3 a fill.

volvo wash fluid is spirit based and leaves no deposits whatsoever . Important for expensive heated jets. you get what you pay for in life with cars i have discovered over the last 50 years. |
Where do you guys buy, online or at dealer?
Just wondering what’s cheaper. |
VW used to sell bottles of strong concentrate (1L?) which you added so many caps-full to your bottle and topped up with water. Seems to make more sense than lorries delivering 4L plastic containers that are mostly just water. Mind you, you could say that beer is mostly water...

I've been using this for 6 years: https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/tripl...ltrs-542771201
Works well and no problems with blockages on the heated nozzles. |
