New to V60 section

Hello all,

I will be joining this part of the forum, coming from the s40 classic section.
I put a deposit down on a 2016 V60 D4 se lux nav with winter pack and driver assistance pack yday and picking it up a week tomorrow.

Feeling sad and weirdly a bit guilty at having to put my 2003 V40 1.9DS up for sale after nearly 11yrs of ownership. She's been an amazingly reliable steed that has had her fair share of issues but only actually let me down once after being parked in a car park for 2 weeks whilst on holiday and leaving the glove box slightly ajar so the light was on and flattened the battery.

But looking forward to my new arrival. Full service history, has got high miles at 125000 but drives really well.

Welcome! You’ll love your V60. Drivers pack makes motorway miles far more relaxing.

Welcome, I have the same car as you are getting. Small issue with drive seals squeaking, but mainly just fill her up and drive. A great touring car, and easy around town.

David.

Welcome.

125,000 miles in 3 years shows how durable these cars can be (and a good advert for the VEA engine).

You'll enjoy your V60. Very impressive cars.

How bizarre that it's the same as yours and the same colour - magic blue pearlescent I was told.

Picked up the new addition today.
Brought from a car sales place in Derby, that I am quickly losing faith with, and hence losing a bit of confidence in the the car.
It drives fine, handles fine but on picking up a 'oil service required' came on dash.
Apparently had been serviced mid week at a miscellaneous garage. The warning I thought was the service light not reset!
Got home and looking through the manual discovered the oil could've been over-filled! Great!
Could'nt read the oil level, so a drive to a more level place and 5 min wait.
Electronic oil level sensor confirmed oil over-filled.

Also noticed the plastic cover over passenger front pillar where the bonet catch resides has been took off and not replaced correctly, shoddy workmanship eh?
Rang car salesman and need to take back Tuesday, just what I wanted!

Is there anyway to discover by how much the oil has been overfilled?
Cheers

yes but i would take it to a volvo dealer who knows how to deal with this problem . also i would be fairly sure they did not use the volvo approved 0w/20 oil (VCC RBS0-2AE)

It would be best if volvo changed the oil with the correct 5 litre quantity and quality then reset the oil level sensor to end this problem . then send your supplier the bill ...

I kinda thought this maybe a response, which is the best approach, but think I might find myself up against it. Apparently they use Volsaa in Derby for specific Volvo issues if anybody has heard of them/ if they're any good? As a decent compromise.
