Volvo V70 tdi auto 1999 spare or repair

So the other night the car broke down on me, the aux belt came off and left me stranded. After further investigation the following day it turns out the idler bearing had seized causing the belt to jump off. I've owned the car a little over a year but as it cost me peanuts to buy I'm not really inclined to spend out money repairing it myself however I'm happy to pass it onto someone else who wants a decent car for an easy diy fix otherwise I'll just end up scrapping it but that seems like a bit a shame really given the rest of the car is pretty decent.

So it's a p1 V70 S auto with the trusty tdi engine in it, I'm only the second owner from new after the first buying it brand new back in the day and being maintained by Volvo pretty much it's entire life with receipts to prove. Current mileage stands at 137,345 with many more to come I'm sure. Generally the car is in good condition, has one rust scab on the front passenger door and the usual wear and tear around the body you'd expect of a car this age. Inside is good, recently wet vac'd the whole car so feeling fresher, climate control blows cold. A couple of things to note is the drivers door window switch doesn't work to raise the nsr window (I think it's ns and not os!) and the front passenger just slightly comes off it's guide as it's coming into the rubber at the top of the window. Both these things never really bothered me and the front window wouldn't always cause issue and it was just a case of leaning over and guiding it in if it did happen anyway. The engine light is on in the dash pic due to having plates fitted to the EGR valve, it doesn't effect how the engine runs at all.

So all in all it's a great load lugger with plenty of life left in the old dog yet for a simple fix.

I guess in terms of price, around £250, it will need recovering or trailering away due to no power steeering.

MOT 29/11/17.
