Intercooler hose leak

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,

I have a very small leak. But I don't know exactly where it comes from.
I took some pictures before cleaning with some brake cleaning fluid. And I'll see if it shows up again..
Does anyone know what id the reason of this leak?
I fond no strange engine behaviour, no turbo hissing or whatever...

Thanks for your help.

ps if everything goes well you should find some pictures with this post...
Otherwise it is around the Intercooler air pipe.
parts number 30777567 and 31319049 70511563
My car is a XC60 MY 2012

excellent!!! I will check that, but I'm confident it is the same problem. :notworthy:

All is explained in the video.
The hose that the plastic fitting pushes into becomes hard and brittle so does not seal correctly and therefore leaks oil from the CCV

if it is exactly this same problem I'll be saving thanks to you at least 200 euros if done myself... I assume 400 euros done by Volvo...

After verification in 2013 it cost 550 euros!!!

I've checked on the car and it is indeed a bit loose. I'll send a message to the youtuber. Thanks!

Also, that hose is not carrying boost pressure - it is taking air from the airbox to the turbo inlet. Just clean the oil & dirt from the area and use some PTFE tape to seal it.

Very funny you say that, I slept thinking about that solution and was about to look for that kind of solution wondering if it would sustain the heat.
So

is silicone tape or rubber tape any better or... something I don't know exists...

PTFE tape works well, I had the same problem on my 2011 V60 and fixed it.

The problem on my car was the plastic fitting with the electrical connector is only a push-fit into the mounting on the hose. If you pull it out gently, wrap 2 or 3 layers of PTFE tape around the fitting, then push it back in, it will be fixed.
