"Juddering" during acceleration

Hi guys

I've had a good trawl of the forums before posting this and, whilst there are a few things that sort of match what I'm about to describe, none of them sounds exactly like my problem.

I've got a 2010 S40 Drive with start/stop and, for the last couple of months, I've noticed that the car seems to sound like it's struggling under acceleration. There's no actual issue with power - it very rapidly gets up to speed - but the engine judders like it would if you were trying to accelerate in a gear that's too high. The noise doesn't seem to feature too badly when out of the car but it's very noticeable inside.

I keep meaning to take it in to the dealer but the reception I got when I took it in for the B pillar rattles (basically, "You're imagining it because we can't hear it") makes me reluctant.

Any ideas?

Duff coil pack or spark plug causing in a misfire in one cylinder.

or DMF on the way out.

There's 2 ideas for you :) Could be all manner of things though... have they read the codes ?

10/10 for helpfulness but afraid 1/10 for technical...it's a diesel.

Reminds me of a faulty engine mount I had on a Mondeo years ago, drove fine but felt terrible.

Sounds to me very much like an EGR symptom. Although I wouldn't expect it on such a new car, maybe if it was alot of short trips and miss daisy driving style perhaps??

I drive 60 motorway miles every day and, given that I use the car on blue light runs 2 or 3 times a week, I suspect Miss Daisy wouldn't enjoy herself... ;)
