V50 rear shock absorbers - where to get?

Hello,

The rear shocks on my 06 v50 2.0d are worn and need replacing.

Can anyone recommend the best place to get genuine Volvo replacements? I’ve looked but can’t seem to find anywhere.

Or, should I just fit some cheaper 3rd party shocks? Any recommendations on what I could use?

Many thanks,
Sam.

Try ECP/CP4L

I used KYB shocks from Euro Car Parts. Very reasonable and happy with the quality.

Thanks for the replies. Are they really about £75 quid each? Seems a lot.

I just went to ecp website and KYB are £41 each with the current discount code of PAT75.

Thanks. I’ll look a bit harder!

as I read this post I literally just downloaded an app called AutoDoc, havent purchased anything off it yet but looks incredible with some pretty good prices. Just looking at shocks now and they are about £19.18 to 28/30£ with a whole variety of makes.

As I said I have never used them yet but will probably try them out soonish I think.

I bought shocks from buycarparts.co.uk which I think is part of autodoc.
Good prices but delivery took a couple of weeks as they came from Germany.

If you're in no rush I can recommend Autodoc.

Recently purchased some Bilstein B6 shocks for my V50.

Took about 7-10 days to arrive as they ship from Germany.

They were cheaper than direct from the manufacturer.

Meyle also do shocks, here's a link to their parts catalogue - https://www.meyle.com/en/service-cen...ine-catalogue/

Quite expensive. I have got Japko MJ00540 for £6, (Amazon, now the price went up to £45) fitted and works great. The original shock looks almost new, but once compressed it does not extend/return on its own, I have to pull it a bit, although has a lot of resistance in it.
