Volvo Cars UK have deleted my Volvo ID account

I've had an open case with Volvo Customer Relations to resolve an issue where my local preferred retailer (Lookers Volvo Stockport) does not appear in the list of preferred retailers from within the My Volvo website. I sent an email today to inquire what the status was (I was told 1 month ago that I would receive an update in about 2 weeks). I received an automated response to my email, but nothing further, until mid afternoon, when I received this

Your Volvo ID has been changed

We´re sorry to see you go!

This e-mail is to confirm that your Volvo ID has been deleted and cannot be restored. You can no longer log in to services that require a Volvo ID, such as My Volvo web, the Volvo On Call app and send-to-car functions.

You are always welcome back.

Best regards,
Volvo Cars

This is of no help to you but your experience is consistent with the level of competence I've encountered dealing with Volvo UK.

Over the last 2 years I've phoned and emailed them about 10 times to get them to correct my home address. It's still wrong.

You do have to wonder about the overall competence of an organisation that can't even correct such a simple thing.

Thanks Lexman

Up until the air suspension failure everything was fine other than the dealer registration issue. The way that the VOC group dealt with the repair of the car was appalling. They lost my car for 3 days after it had been dropped at a storage yard. I still have no paperwork for the recovery and as a result I can’t claim for the chipped paint on my door.

I’m happy with the car and the dealer, however Volvo don’t understand the customer experience or how to support their dealer network.

It's worth tweeting the Social Media team @volvocaruk (Not too many personal details) - They often just refer you to Customer Service, but they might be able to help.

Updating this story (or saga as it has now become!). According to Volvo Customer Relations, it appears that Volvo Technical in Sweden deleted my VolvoID to try and resolve the fact that Volvo Looker Stockport does not appear as a preferred retailer in the My Volvo website.
I'm now waiting for a Volvo UK Customer Relations manager to call me back "within 24 hours".

Volvo have clearly underestimated their ability to scale their back end support organisation in line with their success in sales.

They are an everyday car company masquerading as a prestige car company at the moment.:shocked:

There are very few 'prestige' car companies in the sense that I think you mean. None of them are really mass producers. None of them are guaranteed to match, much less better Volvo's product support, although their dealers may well provide a premium service. At a cost.
All your Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Jaguar and so on, are all fluff and little substance. They just live on carefully crafted consumer image and that image often doesn't reflect consumer reality when something goes wrong, or indeed often in the quality and reliability of their vehicles.

If you want real substance and quality, but a lower image perception as yet, buy Hyundai or Kia, Toyota and maybe Honda.

Further update.

Working with Volvo I recreated my account and Volvo Technical were able to restore the driving journal.
I got there in the end! The original problem of not being able to set a preferred dealer (they don't appear in the list) still exisits though

I know some Volvo dealers are not listed.
In London, Sentinel Volvo (London, N17) don't appear on the Dealer Map - as they don't officially* sell new cars, but are an Authorised reveller and Volvo Service centre.
*They still do.

I am in France at the moment and pleasingly I was contacted on my mobile phone to say my alarm had gone off on the car. I was quite surprised and on going back to the car noted the front facing camera had become detached from the windscreen causing the alarm to activate. This gave me confidence in VOC as well as the alarm working well. I hope nothing goes wrong with it if it is a problem to sort out as others have found.
