Dog guard

Folks.
Hopefully someone has the answer.
A family member has recently bought a 2013 model D40.
They searched for a dog guard and bought the BICE WALKYGUARD.
However, it now appears it won`t fit because the headrests swivel forwards
instead of sliding upwards. Also, it is way too tall even with the top bar removed.
Does anyone have a working alternative that they will recommend.
Many Thanks.

There are several options:-

Volvo OEM dog guard. This is fixed to the back of the rear seats but I believe it needs a special Volvo tool to attach the fittings so probably best left to a main dealer to fit.

Travall dog guard specific to the V40 (2012 onwards). Fits behind the rear seats and does not need any special tools and easily fitted and removed.

I would suggest the Travall guard would be the best option and less expensive than the Volvo guard.

Hope this helps.

I have the Volvo dog guard and although expensive (it's Volvo after all) it is good. You hardly notice its presence.

Just an update, folks.
Sister informs me that they have purchased the Trav-all guard.
Excellent quality. Goes straight in with no fettling.
Also, by using a couple of tie-wraps the guard stays in place if a seat-back is tilted forwards (load carrying) .
Would the Volvo version , being fitted to the rear of the seat, not hit the front seat when tilted forward ?
