531 Head
I am looking for a ‘531 Head’ I believe from a B230ET (early 740 turbo) or B230FB (late 940) engine (to the best of my knowledge). The full part number is 1000531 and is cast clearly into the head above the exhaust ports.
For info, the alternative part number is 1000530, which i am NOT looking for. I am in Leicester so can collect in the midlands, but will also pay for courier from elsewhere in the UK. Thanks, Simon simontwithers@hotmail.co.uk |
Good luck with that Simon - if you find two, please do let me know!

good luck. i spent about 3 months trying to track one down for my build before giving up. I did find a couple people across the forums and facebook that had one but all very reluctant to sell so extremely expensive.
In the end i got a standard 530 off a B230FT with the plan of porting it out. a ported 530 can flow better than a standard 531 with a bit of work but a ported 531 wins overall. |
This should have a 531 head and an A cam, but it’d be worth checking before buying it- if you want a 531 that much that you’ll buy a whole engine for it that is.
Unfortunately the rest of the engine isn’t a good starting point for a big power build- smaller 9mm rods and no oil squirters. http://https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F 283296530350 Cheers |

That is not true, A ported 530 will outflow a standard 531
Erland Cox takes the intake on a 530 to 200CFM, stock 531 measures 175CFM but he can get a 531 to 225CFM but with further work more is possble. For a turbo engine the biggest issue is the exhaust side and that is the same same with both the 530 and 531 with almost identical flow. The site you linked to is nice to read but a lot of the info is out dated and coming from the US. You need to look to Sweden for good information |

I will have a look in to Erland Cox. |
There are a few well know known head porters in Sweden.
I know Erland ported the head on the 1600BHP B230 or at least he did the first version of it. That is crazy power for a 8v engine |
