Front pads/discs replacement - 2015 V60
Just passed the MoT but apparently the front pads are a bit low and the discs are worn.
Any recommendations for where to get the replacements? Is the job straightforward? |
just done my v70 all round new discs pads , got mine from euro car parts very reasonable

+1, Eurocar parts is good. I did a full disk and pad swap on my V50 for £220 inc the wind off kit for the rear brakes. If you’re prepared to get your hands dirty to save yourself a fortune then go for it.

But, don't buy their name/cheapest brand, Brembo, Pagid, Bosch best; plus only buy when their sales are on, alternately try FRF VOLVO, Swansea quoting code C30 for best MD prices, but postage may negate savings!!!
P PS Or ask your local Volvo dealer to price match! |
I'm definitely planning to do it myself, as I always have with every other car I've owned over the last 40 years! I was interested to know about needing special tools, but apparently not?
Thanks to all for the replies. |

I replaced mine with Pagid in the summer, the only issue I had was getting the old discs off, it was as if they were welded to the hub - you couldn't see the joint around the hub.
It took a lot of 'persuasion' with a lump hammer while a 10 ton hydraulic puller was applying pressure to the hub to get it to move & it took about 15 minutes per side of hammering to get the discs off but once the hubs were cleaned up the new ones fitted without issue. The centre bore diameter seemed a few mils wider on the pagid discs so there shouldn't be an issue going forward. |
