https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/volvo-940...dZv:rk:11:pf:0

Even the price of 940 Grilles are on the up !!

That's £119.43p more than I paid for my whole car !! I got the car for nothing and found 43p down the back of the front seat :teeth_smile::teeth_smile:

Maybe I'm a bit sad but I'm looking forward to polishing my standard one. Must come from years of polishing Chrome on motorbikes !

Do you mean like this Luke?

:laughing-smiley-018

If you need to type it out, it's ":laughing_smiley_018" but change the underscores for hyphens. If you click "[More]" in the Smilies bit, scroll down the left column and it's about 3/4 of the way down.

Can't see what's special about that grile on ebay though, perhaps it was hand-moulded on a dusky maidens thigh and the chrome is in fact platinum plate, hand-applied by a craftsman dwarf using fairy-hammers to shape it and lock it in place. :err:

why folks pay stupid money for egg crates is just crazy its a grill air intake thats it it does nothing wont make the car go any faster lol

Without wanting to buck the prevailing trends, I don't actually like the look of the egg crate, I never have...the chrome 900 series grilles are beautiful in my opinion.

I Have the same theory when you see alloy wheels posted as rare and daft money why its it rare its just another alloy like any other just a diff pattern does the same job as every other wheel on the planet holds the car up in each corner and stops the tire falling off the rim lol

It's the same for every make on the road. As many on her eknow and my signature points at, my other automotive passion is Rover 800s, in particular the 827 but across the range there are a few alloys that are described as "rare". However, because of the age of them, the scrappage scheme (another brilliant Labour idea - NOT!) and negative coverage in the media by journos supplied with free french and german cars about the time BMW was trying to kill the marque, Rovers went through a period of being the turn of the century version of Skodas from the 70s - the butt of all the jokes.

However, i too fail to see why the 17" 6-spoke alloys as fitted to the Vitesse models can justify a monumental price tag or any other wheel in the range. They do though and i just don't get it!

As a result, i now have a set of S40 "Telesto" alloys on my 827 that i picked up for a sensible price.

As for my 760, i still have the original factory fit Omegas, they suit the car very well and i have no desire to change them for any other wheels, no matter how nice they are! ;) :D

Behind the kind of green door ?

I think I've found the door to go with the Holy Grille:teeth_smile::teeth_smile::teeth_smile:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-940...A9W:rk:17:pf:0

And with £175.00 postage it would come to £405.00:shocked::shocked::shocked:

Could this be Brexit revenge ??

That's more than my 760 cost!!! :speechless-smiley-5 :nah:

Final bid on ebay was £175 but i found about 47p under the back seat!

Since then i've renewed the suspension, brakes, gearbox extension seal & bearing, prop centre bearing, HT leads, plugs (twice), injectors, FPR, fuel lines, fuel tank, tyres, spaceship bushes and the list goes on!

Seriously though, you could buy a complete spares car for that £405++ and then make most of your money back breaking it.

However, something i have noticed, many breakers in Europe, particularly Germany and Denmark, seem to charge exorbitant prices, especially for stuff that is now unobtainable new. Nowt to do with Brexit, just shows they are greedy foreigners!
