Can't get lpg anywhere, anyone else in the same boat?

Hi to All

Until November I was paying 51.7p per litre for lpg in High Wycombe and then the shortages began. Then it went up to 71.7 at my garage, but I can rarely get it there so I was paying 89.9 in Reading, now 99.9 in Reading, and then I was paying £1.20 at another location in High Wycombe and now I can't get it at all here in the South East, none of these garages have it in stock, some for months now.

You used this at all ? :

https://www.mylpg.eu/stations/united-kingdom/#map

It does list Shinfield Road, Reading and High Wycombe Asda as "temporarily out of order". It also has V&G agricultural at £1.20 back on the 9th March. Assuming these are the ones you visited, it appears to have some semblance of accuracy.

Next nearest on this would be Longmoor Farm Portable Gas, LPG price: 0.899 GBP/L (28.03.2022)

I have a feeling it's being phased out gradualy.

Apparently there is still an ongoing issue since Brexit of qualified HGV drivers who have the special licence to deliver LPG, it is not just petrol stations who are without stock but rural homes. I read that supplies are being prioritised to rural homes and hospitals.

High Wycombe Asda (Flogas) have barely ever had stocks this year

Shell (Shell Autogas) didn't have shortages until very recently

The V&G Agricultural Farm has only started getting delayed deliveries in the last fortnight and is without for the first time now since I have been going there this last month.

I will phone the Wokingham farm but I am not optimistic!

It's still available[although I don't use it]at a petrol station near me,but I do know many outlets have been phasing out the sale of it for some years now.I know at least one person who sold his lpg'd car last year because it was no longer available in his area and they'd taken the pumps out so his commute became too expensive on petrol.

Its still on sale at many places near me but they cannot get it due to lack of hgv drivers with special gas delivery licence (Brexit). It's only become a problem in the last couple of months. The Wokingham Farm has it at 89.9 and I am in Reading tomorrow so I will tank up there. I'm on my last few dregs of lpg, I seem to just make it from one fill to the next but it's getting harder!

I was fitting Volvo LPG kits from around 1979 to the late 80's then volvo brought out the factory LPG cars in the early 2000's but it wasn't really successful , since then LPG has been on the decline year by year .. I am surprised it has kept going so long. I would say 80% of the old motor vehicle LPG outlets have stopped selling LPG for the last 20 years . Time to go electric I guess !

Yesterday I tanked up at Longmoor Farm, Wokingham at 89.9p per litre and they say that so far they have never had shortages so I am feeling optimistic in the short term.

I am interested to know if lpg outlets in parts of the country other than the SE are struggling to get supplies, anyone else in the same boat as me?

Not necessarily the same thing here (Sydney Straya) as there ... but here, all the taxis switched to various petrol hybrids. So the LPG market effectively evaporated ... you still see LPG bowsers at service-stations that haven't been refitted or rebranded, but a lot of them are disappearing if a place gets a renovation or a re-branding.

My nearest petrol station used to sell LPG but stopped about a year ago. Nearest is Derby around 20 miles away! LPG not usable in my area. Only do 3k in the 940 so not worth the cost to change and general distance to buy it.

As said electric hybrid for me. Auris TS 1.8 hybrid.

It's a shame as LPG was/is a good alternative and cheap.

There has been fuel shortages in my area. Morrisons had no fuel a few days ago and other stations had no diesel. Had petrol but not all pumps available.
Read there has been oil refinery protests and we get 18% of our diesel from Russia.
