Finally got round to transmission flush
1 Attachment(s)
Hi I posted a bit back asking about transmission flush..delivery problems and postal strike meant I have only just got the stuff.
So I dumped the sump and refilled drove for 30 or so miles then repeated I then reverted to being a lazy sod and did a sump dump while working through the gears opening up the solenoids...and went through about 16 litres. It's nice a red now and the gear changes are almost invisible. I'm altogether very happy with the outcome and you can see from the picture the sealed for life claim is absolute rubbish. Cheers just thought I follow up on my first post |

My car has 79k on it now and I'm thinking of getting this done.
Not doing it myself though! Question is where do I get it done at? Do main dealers have the clever EDT machines for flushing the transmission properly or is it best to go to an auto transmission specialist? Also do you need VIDA to re-run the adaptations routine for the new fluid viscosity/condition? @Clan may be the man in the know? |
Mainly from various YouTubers while looking for info on the car. I recall one stating Volvo put the information out to capture the fleet market to entice them with reduced maintenance costs.

I would have liked to have reset the counter to 0 but don't have vida and I think the transmission relearns as it goes along. If I'm wrong apologies but that's what I've gone with haha |

I'll ask for a quote from my local dealership and update this thread with the cost. May need to call in and ask to speak with the Master Tech as every time I ring these days I go through to a Head Office/National call handling facility and just get a call centre dude reading off a script and all they are interested in is upselling (MOT cover/fuel treatment/interior sanitizing). |
