Non specific model question.
Having finally disposed of my S80 and buying an 11 reg S60 and playing with the mycar menus, I am confused!
On the dashboard display (when the warning lights come on), there is the ABL symbol in orange. The manual states that these are switched on and off in the menu. It's not there though. I haven't driven in the dark yet (!) so can't say if they work. Would Volvo put a warning light in for no reason? Answers on a postcard please...... Thanks in advance. |

I like that! But....there is a warning light for headlamps AND a warning light for the active bending lights (orange light with arrows pointing left and right) too.
What am i missing 🤔 ? |

That's the way :) |
Have you got xenon headlights? If the symbol is illuminated while driving then that would suggest there is a fault in the system. Because you can't find the ABL
in the menu makes me question wether you have the Bending lights fitted. If they are halogen then it isn't. |
No that's the thing.
The xenon lights (I believe) do a level check when activated? Mine don't. The light is the dash light that illuminates before the engine is started. Not a warning light (as I suggested) more a check light? Orange. It goes out once the engine is started. I just cannot imagine that the light is fitted, but the system isn't. I'll just have to go for a night time ride and see what happens! Literally. The joys of new car ownership, so many new odd discoveries. All window opening? Check. Folding mirrors? Check. Telephones linked? Check. Mirrors tilting in reverse? Check and cancelled! Useless, needs to be adjustable. Set to position on seat memory 3? Check, much better! |
Yeah they self level at start up. Looks as though you have halogens. If so you will have the thumbwheel next to the light switch to manually adjust the lights, that would confirm which lights you have. My previous S60 R-Design only had halogen lights, piccie

Exactly those.
Did an online VIN check and I have high intensity discharge headlights apparently. Begs the question why I can see the ABL check light...….. Got to love Volvo. Thanks for the help! |
