You may have read in the 2007 rip thread that my aux drive belt also shredded and caused the timing belt to jump causing catastrophic damage to the head.
I have removed the head and sourced a replacement .
I'm struggling a little on how to synchronize the 2 camshafts I've tried google but only come up with how to change the timing belt. So if anyone can shed some light on the matter I'd be very grateful

from memory there are two little dots on the faces of cogs which line up with each other when they are in sync...

Doesn't VIDA have instructions? Sorry, can't look, PC is out in the car and it's dark and rainy and... ;) :D

Yes in Information >Repair

Thanks for the info guys ....
Apologies for my ignorance but as I've only had vida set up onto car once and know very little about navigating through it .
Can I just use the tablet with it on as a stand alone unit or does it have to be connected to the car ?
As I've got the battery disconnected with taking the cylinder head off

Yes VIDA will work standalone.

thanks for replies guys ive managed to find the relevant section and it has the info i need . but as the head i bought off ebay has to go back (see my post in RIP2007) ive spent some time cleaning all the gunk out of the intake system.
when i eventually [if] i get it going again it should be able to breath a lot better and maybe give a little more M.P.G

What did you use to clean the gunk? Looks great!

I scraped the thick off with a plastic scraper then let the bits sit in degreaser for 48hrs jet washed off then set about buffing them
