Can XC70 springs shocks etc be transplanted onto V70?
 

Greetings one and all...

For various reasons I need a bit more ground clearance on my P2 V70 (2002). All the shocks are weeping and at 220,000 miles the springs could do with replacing too.

So, the question is peeps, do I go to new (25mm higher) springs OR can I simply buy springs, struts etc for an XC70 and fit them instead?

Obviously a simple question to ask, but I suspect the answer may be a little more complicated... I await the onslaught :stormy:

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that. Longer driveshafts for starters I would guess.

IIRC the wishbones are different as are some of the rear end linkages also.

Oh well, it's the next best thing then. 25mm taller springs all round along with new shocks... :thumbs_up:

Check the effect on camber angle of fitting longer springs. It may be within tolerances or adjustable to be within tolerance. Longer springs will tend to introduce positive camber which could alter the feel of the car dramatically.
Longer springs will give you more clearance under the body but ultimately it's decided by the size of the wheels and tyres as these are fixed values.
