V70 door edge lights left side not working
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all
On a 1999 V70 both left door edge marker lights are not working. If I test the supply to each LH door when open, there is no voltage at the connector behind the lamp (and the lamp does not light). When I open either LH door, the overhead courtesy light does not light up. When I open either RH door, the overhead courtesy light *does* light up (and the door lamps do light). Before I take the door cards off (because the switch is part of the door latch), can anyone point me to a wiring diagram or spot a location that is common just to both of those left hand doors? It is possible that the problem has been present for a long time, so it is possible that both LH latch switches are bad, but I am hoping for some other explanation. Thanks Steve |
PS
Found this article which looks very relevant https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=124280 If I have to remove the door cards I will look for the white pivot arm that is mentioned for some situations where the lights do not come on. |
the light plugs into the door actuator, so there is probably a fault with that.

Sounds like a problem with the micro switches in the door latches.
I believe there are various posts/videos on how to repair or replace...means taking out the lock assembly. |
+1 ....micro switches in the door latches as volvo again said
