740 estate saleable?

Bearing in mind the high values put on Volvo 240 estates now, and the seemingly nil value of 740 estates, I'm just trying to judge if there will be any interest in my 2-owner 740 estate after Christmas.
I've owned this basic (no foglights and cloth interior) car for about 4 years but gave it to my son when I had health issues. He upgraded to a V70 estate last summer so gave me my car back (!). I barely use a car now, and since the July Volvo specialist work for new brakes and exhaust haven't even done 120 miles. It is legal until next spring, a bit grubby inside after litter-dropping grandchildren, an auto with 210k on the clock and full FSH before me. Faults: an area of paint scabbing on the lower nsf wing, but not holed, mirror glass broken (new supplied), nsr door handle broken by oldest grandchild - must have been cracked! Again, replacement supplied: radio aerial came off and the usual headlining coming away. The fuel gauge only seems to register when almost full, and the speedo must have a loose connection as it sometimes goes off at one pothole to come on again at the next.
It only really needs one thing - to be driven and enjoyed far more than I now can. I can't put photos on here, not that I have many, but as so recently worked on am only looking to recover the cost of that work - am I dreaming?
I will use it over the festive, after which don't need it any more as my son takes me out in the V70 when I can't get where I want using the good bus service at the end of my road.
Any interest on here before it goes on ebay?

How much are you thinking for it? Feel free to PM me if you don’t want to put the price up on here.

In my opinion it is definitely saleable. It has a sound body, no significant issues, and it is, a Volvo.

The fuel gauge and speedometer problems are likely to be elusive to diagnose. You need a buyer who will be realistic to tackle those issues. But. You only need one buyer.

Good luck.

I use public transport moe than the jam jar. They even provide a driver! :)

I agree with 'Stephen Edwin', 'Triple-S'. Why not put a year's MOT on it after Christmas? That way it will be more saleable and probably also command a higher price. I would say at least £500, possibly more with a year's ticket.

If I hadn't also bought a V70 when my own 745 failed its MOT catastrophically a couple of years back, I may well have been interested myself.

Regards, John.

Yes, but which Christmas is currently impossible to predict! :p

Slightly flippant answer admittedly but to serve the purpose of pointing out that at the moment, 7/9xx values are in the doldrums a bit, certainly compared to others.

Also like John suggested, well worth investing £55 in another MoT test, most people won't, unless they're desperate for transport, consider a car with a short MoT even if it is coming into the spring - they'll want to spend their spare time enjoying the better weather, painting the fence/shed/windows or whatever else they haven't been able to do over winter that desperately needs doing, not faffing about getting a car ready for MoT in the hope it will pass.
By putting a fresh MoT on it, you've removed that doubt.

As for the value, the 7/9xx will have its time and be worth a pretty penny, just not yet. Seen it happen with many makes and models, 20 years ago you couldn't give a Rover SD1 away, now they're regularly changing hands for £12k+++
I'm not suggesting the 7/9xx will command such prices, just pointing out one example - there are countless others that have increased in value.
