340 speedo cable

Speedo cable (inner) for a 340 G-reg 1991.

Dealers advise no longer available so it is off to the breakers if nothing else comes up.

Been there and asked the seller - it will not fit (honest seller though). They did offer a used unit (damaged outer cable but OK inner cable for £18 odds (inc VAT and postage) but I can get one from my local breaker for a fiver (having seen it first).

I don't have the part number. The cable at my local breaker had been 'nabbed' and the breaker did not know it had been taken (the inner cable). I have been able to get the used one I mentioned sent to me and I am now waiting for that. Thanks for the offer to check.

The part number for an 86+ speedo cable appears to be 3208043. It seems to be a whole unit - no separate inner. I believe you can use an earlier type VDO-cluster cable (3205803) if you use the matching 'drive adaptor' into the hub nut cap.

This has nothing to do with this thread. It is not the first of these that I have seen on the site. Any way of stopping them?

Speedy cables of swansea will make you a new cable for about £36 .. or repair the one ou have with a new inner ...
