XC90 Swirl arm - AA Warranty

So the swirl arm came off on my 2007 XC90 the other week :(
I put it back on and all was good :)
It came off again yesterday :(
I bought a new one yesterday and put it back on :)
I have no doubt it will come back off again... soon. :(

I remembered that when I bought the car it came with AA Warranty Gold Cover, so thought I would give them a call to see if it is covered.
Sounds like it may well be, which is a shock. However, I need to take it to Halfords Autocentre to get it diagnosed. They will then call them to confirm the issue, and whether it is genuine fault, or wear tear, user error etc.
Hate the fact I have to take it to Halfords Autocentre, and the fact that it will be them carrying out the repair! But I guess there is little I can do on that front.

Has anybody else had this problem successfully resolved under a warranty policy? Part of me is concerned/convinced that they will wiggle out of it and I will have to pay Halfords £49 for diagnosing what I already know is the problem.

I would share your concern!
The AA tried to get out of a legit claim I made years ago. Basically they said 'The car has to be serviced according to the manufacturers schedule. If it had been it would have not have failed. So despite you having a complete service history from main dealers (it was an ex-company car) it obviously wasnt serviced properly so we don't have to pay up'

I had to go to the Ombudsman to get them to pay.
