V70 rocker cover

Recently saved a damaged 1998 v70 from being scrapped. Left it with the garage to do the belt and got a call to say that the rocker cover needed replaced as it was broken at the cam seal.
Long story short I'm looking for a rocker cover for a 2.5 petrol v70 on an s plate.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

you cannot get cam covers , they are individual to each engine , the cam bearings are drilled with the cover attached so perfect alignment . if you fit one from another engine the camshaft bearings are not going to be perfectly round or aligned and they could seize or rattle and wreck the rest of the engine . However did they break it ? i would get them to repair the original , it is their problem now . There would be no reason for them to take the cover off or to break it when doing a cambelt change .

That's not good. They took it off as there was a small oil leak around it and didn't notice until it was being refitted.
I had a look and don't think it could be repaired that's why I was looking for a new cover.

Hi

Just to be 100% sure.

What was broken, the plastic black cover which hides the spark plugs and which is held in with Torx screws, or the aluminium cover over the cam shaft etc (which is under the plastic black cover)?

If the first, then easy to fit a replacement. If the second, then as Clan says, not simple.

I've got away with swapping rocker covers over before now..
No idea if I was lucky to getaway with it,or the official way is ott as is often the case.
