Retro fit headlight washers

As per the title really. Can the headlamp washers be retro fitted. I have Dice to change any settings.
I stumbled across a pair on eBay pretty cheaply, so I thought mmmmm. I might just do that.

Looking at them, there is no wiring to them, just the hose connection. Are they operated (pop out) on water pressure?

not worth it I did a delete on mine as the blades were too expensive to replace / I broke an arm

Hi, I think it is a tad more than just water pressure.

Mine packed in during recent frost, the main washers were fine. You notice them because there is a slight delay from the main screen washers and they power up ( presumably push out and start squirting) a second of two after the main wash.

They have their own fuse, which in my case had blown. Hence they must have individual pump to push them out? Also appears to have a delayed signal to activate. Fuse is in main box in engine bay.

Hope this helps

I * think * it is a separate system that has it's own pump as it uses more water at a higher pressure than the windscreen alone. Haven't looked on my XC90 but on my XC60, V50 and XC70 the system has a separate fuse.

I also seem to think that they work the first time you use the washers and then 1 in every 5 activations after that to conserve fluid. I guess that part would be managed by the CEM.

If you have VIDA then you should be able to find a diagram and part numbers etc.

Yep, it has a much more powerful pump just for the headlamp washers

It builds up a lot of pressure to force the squirters out of the bumper.
The pump is much stronger.

Ah well. Twas just a thought! I was actually quite surprised at how cheap the squirters are.

Might still be doable and I expect you could get used parts very cheaply as they will not be in great demand.
