headlight levelling motors

Hi, I recently purchased a new pair of Van Wezel headlights for my 1998 V70. I also fitted a very good quality HID kit. The levelling motors worked fine on my old headlights but not on the new ones. The beams were aligned by my local garage but I turned the interior levelling switch to lower the beams slightly. I have noticed that the beams have remained at the same level and adjusting the switch does not alter the height of the beams.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem. thanks jack.

Jack -
Assuming the levelling mechanism works with the HID, first you need to figure out where the problem is.
When you adjust up / down do the motors actually turn? You should be able to hear them.
If you can I suspect that the mechanical connection inside the headlight has come apart.
If not, check electrical connectors and fuse.
Joe

Hi joe, It was the fuse after all. It must have blown ages ago as I never needed to adjust the level of my old headlights. Thanks for your trouble. jack
