Gonna have to sell up
 

Hi

Sad tale I am afraid. I have a 1965 P1800S in light blue which I am simply not using enough to keep.

The bodywork was restored extensively and repainted about 5 years ago, I didn't go near the engine bay as it starts perfectly every time (on original points). Inside is the original carpet and door cards, which I purposely kept in OK state to keep the patina of life!

What is my next step? Do I simply post it on www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk?

Not done this before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes a sad tale , however if you must sell that is one place to sell it but they take a fair slice of the value . Maybe a select Classic Auction ? , keep an eye on the various publications and classic car sales sites for the average price they sell for , For years and years it was around £6000 but recently most classic cars have shot up in value ..

Honestly? It’s not a great time of year or for the market (vibes I’ve got recently) I’d chill with it until it gets bright again, you’ll realise more money for it. For the sake of a free ad car and classic isn’t a bad place to start. Best of luck.

for my two penny worth of thoughts, I suggest you work out what you honestly believe is the current value of your car ( if you have not already done so).
In recent auction sales by Classic Car Auctions, Anglia Car Auctions, and Historics you can see what cars actually sold for. Remember of course this includes buyer's commission.
I an not saying this is necessarily the place to sell, but it does give sight of real prices!
