Volvo XC60 R Design - Wheels Offset

I have recently purchased this car and want to buy alloy wheels for winter tyres.

Current rim dimensions are:-

Rim Type 5-Hole Steel Wheel 8J
Size 18
Centre Bore 63.4
Bolt Patterns 5 x 108
Offset ET55

When I search for wheels by registration number I get differing Offset values and wondered if someone could explain why this is and what effect it may have.

The 19" XC60 rims (2019) should be 7.5J ET50.5.
I just checked the 18" rims you can buy from Volvo and they also are 7.5J ET50.5.

Your rims seem acceptable, but are they original?
You can check whether a different rim will work on

XC60 Mark 1 wheels and XC60 mark 2 wheels compatible?

Hi on the same subject does anyone know if the XC60 Mark 1 and XC60 mark 2 wheels are interchangeable. I have been told the Mark 2 has less clearance so the Mark 1 wheels will not fit? It seems strange that they would be different, does anyone know for sure?

Thank you Paul.

Paul
When I changed to my latest MY19 XC60 (Mark 2) I had the same question & no-one knew.
So I asked my dealer to try for me and we soon found out that the Mark 1 wheels do not have enough clearance when fitted to the Mark 2 car, so the answer is NO.
Sorry

Update

I was able to source a set of alloy rims (via Facebook Market Place) with the exact measurements as my original post. In turn I sold the complete winter wheels from my previous volvo S40 within 24 hours of placing advert on facebook market place and all for free.

Tpms

If getting a 2nd set of wheels for winter do yo need to obtain TPMS sensors also or can you fit wheels without these being fitted and just use the old fashioned method of monitoring tyre pressure during the winter months?

I have the indirect monitoring system on my XC60 year 2016, which does not require valves with sensors. The system works via the ABS and all that is required when a tyre change ocurs is to recalibrate the tyres/wheels.

Just to check my understanding my 2014 XC60 has the following wheel
spec:

255/45R20 8Jx20 ET55 5x108 M14 x 1.5 63.4

will the following spec for some Volvo winter wheels that I can get fit my car (I know they are smaller wheels but that doesn't bother me)

235/60R18 7.5Jx18 ET55 5x108 M14 x 1.5 63.4

Many thanks

Depends on calliper sizes potentially but I have 18” wheels standard on car, and 17” winters standard on lower spec cars 235/60R18 sounds about right my winters are 235/65R17
