Incomparable software

I have 2 fault codes on my V40 one refers to engine control unit software incomparable code U0301 and Comunication with engine control unit invalid serial data received code U040168. Only thing that seems to be a problem is that the temperature gauge isn't working and I get message saying coolant problem. Any suggestions how to remedy this?
