Door switch wiring access
I've just gone to change a bodged door sensor on the front RH of my 940 and the wiring has disappeared off inside the cavity.
Can we gain access to it by removing the wing? I can't see or feel a way in from behind the ECU |

I don’t think removing the wing will give you much advantage over fishing for it through the hole where the switch fits. You might be able to access it through the hole the side repeater cable exits, but I don’t know for sure.
Picture is of the LHS but I guess RHS is similar. Thanks for sharing that this can actually happen. I’ve always been afraid it could and have been a bit neurotic about keeping hold of the wire. |
Thanks. That looks like it might help I agree, but annoying to remove wing to find out.
The wirings fallen in so far I can't even see it anymore as I was fishing for it with a grabber. I snipped a bodge off and it immediately fell back in. Absolute disaster! |
Hi I've had my door skins off lots of times but can't understand what switch goes into the wing on our cars can you get photos of area too

You can access the door switch wires via the plastic blanking plate (the one that can leak)!
Remove kick panel. ECU. ECU bracket. Underlay. Then prise out the black panel. Pull wires out and extend them as appropriate. Poke them back through hole and out the door pillar hole. Refit plastic blank with sealant. |
Ah got you I've had a leak on that blanking plate years ago it caused lot of water soaked carpets but I caught it in time before rusting to floor
|
Guess what... I've just sealed up that plate having chased leaks for over a month straight. So double annoying having to remove all the sealant and re seal it today!

Yes I used a good quality mastic and no problem so 4far 8
