D2 D4162T Fuel Filter Change

Hello all.

I have the above engine in my V50 and am not too far away from service time. I already have the other required filters but read that the fuel filter needed a pump when it came to installing the new one.

I've got a fuel filter saved on e-bay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2824268777...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - not bad for £29 when others charge about £40+

My question is, can I follow the below You Tube video and also purchase this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3223194465...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - along with the relevant tubing from pump to filter to change the filter myself?

Any advice would be most helpful.

That bleeding bulb is fine but my preference is to use one of these.
A little more money but has many uses.

I connect it to the fuel return line and pull fuel through the system priming the filter, HP pump and rail all in one go so the car starts first time.

I'm told that those ebay type pumps leave you with arms like popeye.
I had someone come out with a full size pro pump and it still took 10 mins to pump through with a couple of engine cranks thrown in.
Can't comment on Cheshire 5's pump.

Excellent, thanks guys.

Simon - saved that pump. Not much more expensive than the other pump considering everything you need comes with it.

Glad to know I can now do it myself rather than paying a dealer/garage to do it.

It's very simple to use with a very light action.
There are videos on my YouTube channel showing me testing vacuum engine mounts, a turbo actuator, turbo control valve and vacuum pump.
It can also be used for brake bleeding, pas fluid changes, overfilled oil extraction...... A great value bit of kit.
