Upper torque rod/mount
 

Hi everyone,

I noticed a clunk on my 2007 S80 2.4D, particularly when selecting reverse and drive. So I lifted the bonnet and noticed that the upper torque rod (The one next to the coolant reservoir, visible from the top of the engine bay) moves when the car goes into gear?

Is it normal that I can grab the metal part of the mount & move the whole thing by hand and should the mount move when a gear is selected?

when i removed this mount on my xc70 d5 2011 to do the belts it had been tightened up by the police to goodness knows what torque-i assume they can be a little prone to coming loose with enthusiastic driving,worth checking the bolts are tight...
