144 research
Would be great to know if my old white 144 automatic is still around, it was my first car, I don’t remember the full reg but it was a 1969( K?) and ended OPV.

1969 would be G or H suffix. K is 1971 or 72. Having said that, my 145S should have been registered on a G plate, but was used in Cyprus before being imported to the UK in early 1970, hence it was on an H plate. Yours might have been similar I guess.
Anyhow, it wouldn’t have ended OPV, it would have started with that. |
OPV 123K in that format , first registered in Ipswich around August 1st 1971 probably for the first of the "K" registrations which means it was most likely a Volvo UK car as their import centre / Training Centre was in Raeburn Road Ipswich at that time .

Sorry forgot the format of the old plates. Thats very likely the car OPV123K as I bought it in Leiston in Suffolk about 30 odd miles from Ipswich.
Sold it in High Wickham in the early 90s , its probably long gone, but you never know. Thanks for the info. |

Found an old photo so I now know it was OPV285H.
It not been taxed since June 1990 so I guess the next owner scrapped it. |
Maybe not. He/she could have just put it in barn, intending to restore, as one does. . . Can remember who sold it to? Start looking, you never know! Good luck.
