hub caps

I have some hubcaps with teh loose trims that go around them of a 68 amazon i think. is that the sort you mean?

Yes, what sort do you mean? Early B16 cars would have left the factory with ones that said 'volvo' while '61ish to '64 would have gotten the ones with the red center and a 'V' on them. The wheels that these fit are different from the later black center 'V' ones and thus the hub caps don't interchange.

Also want quality are you looking for? Show ready? Daily driver? Something that covers the nuts?

Hi,

I don't know what year the wheels are from, I have bought them to fit onto my hotrod. They came with a set of smaller caps with the black V in but they are far too small.
The caps I need are approx 10 - 10 1/4" across.
The car is going to be an occasional use motor, but obviously would like the nicest I can get (without breaking the bank)

:-)

If the wheels had the black V hubcaps fitted then the older red centred ones will not fit, but some people have welded little mounting tabs onto their wheels to make the older wider hubcaps fit the newer wheels.

hubcaps

Hi,I have a few of the hub caps you are describing. They could all do with a very good clean,or better still rechrome. They seem to be a bit few and far between, probabaly because they are chromed mild steel, whereas the later ones are stainless.I am in Banbury, despite it saying leyburn on my profile!

Have you moved back south again David?

davidw6092 Jun 23rd, 2011 06:36

where am I?

I am still trying to clear my workshop in the yorkshire dales.I now live and work in banbury, and have my own workshop down here.Moving clutter from north to south seems to be a big part of my life at the moment!(and trying to get rid of stuff at the same time)

I've got a number of the red V style. Two are really good, one is middle of the road daily driver and one needs a healthy polish and red paint.

Drop me a note directly if interested.
