Fog Lamps/horn

I am searching for fog lamps for my 164 and curious if 135 mm lamps will fit in the holes? If they do, will wiring them according to the wiring diagram in the volvo service manual work for lamps that are high/low beam capable? I don't really want the fog lamps to be high/low beam adjustable, all I have been able to find so far are actual head lamps that I want to try to use as fog lamps.

Also, my 164 was built for the American market without fog lamps. Because of this, Volvo placed the high/low tone horns in the cutouts for the fog lamps. The horns are mounted right in the middle where the fog lamps would normally go. My question is if I move the horns and mount them to the core support, will they still work properly being mounted to a more solid part of the car rather than floating in the fog lamp space?

Thank you all in advance

Lesky

OE 164 Hella foglamps are hard to find in good condition. As far as I know, they were unique to the 164.

I have a foglamp from my 164 here on the desk. It is exactly 135mm across, so another 135mm lamp should fit your car.

If you want to use a headlamp, use the dip-only outer headlamps from a 4 light set-up and wire it as per the foglamps. Or, if it is a combined main/dip lamp, just leave the mainbeam filament disconnected.

But you might be able to find an aftermarket 135mm foglight, which would be better.

I'm sure they'll work fine

again replying to a very old post. the foglamps were indeed unique to the 164, the problem being the very shallow mounting points. i´m under the impression that if spare parts were ever made they ran out long ago and unfortunately the glass pits extremely easily, matched only by the speed at which the reflectors rust out due to non-existant sealing against water. the best you can do is find good used ones (like several enthusiasts i´ve hoarded all the better ones i can find) and try to seal them somehow. incidentally, it´s been many years since i last drove my 164 (still have the mechanicals but no body) and i seem to recal the lights being "for show" at best.
