Changing V70 rear light fitting.

Having had a slight knock to the rear offside light fitting (on bodywork, not tailgate) which has damaged the plastic lens, it needs to be changed.

Is this a job that anyone could do or, is it best left to the experts?

Unable to find anything definite online.

Regards, Andy.

You can do it yourself. Have a go, be patient, and if you get stuck just put it back. It's not the sort of thing that once you start it has to be completed, you just do back up everything you undid!

If it happens, try Ford for a price with their number.

Also I picked up a new part on eBay just using the Ford part number and I assume as it hadn't been cross referenced to Volvo it was cheaper!

I did this job on my XC70 which I believe has the same light fitting. The problem seems to be that one of the flanges on the lamp fitting stops the fitting from sliding into the recess unless the entire bumper is removed. I didn't want to do that so I sawed off the offending flange and the fitting attached as rigidly as the original and when the interior panels are replaced no one is any the wiser. But it does seem to show that the lights are designed for assembly line fitting rather than replacement.
