Xc90 2011

Hi in the process of buying anxc90 from Volvo under their select scheme.
All was fine apart from in the hidden Dtc menu 'cem'. Came up which can be costly.
I pointed this out to him and some other things to be made good.
Now he said one of the keys transponder sets it off and the other one dosnt so a new key is being ordered and programmed.
Does this sound correct?
Thanks
Dan

Don't worry.

When the new key arrives and BEFORE you commit to the purchase, - test it all again and then make your decision.

Don't be like me (2011 Exec - also on Selekt) and notice a couple of details AFTER I signed on the line - the dealer just won't be interested.

It was only the front Volvo badge (blue bit) was chipped (since lost so a new one will be fitted at next service (by a different dealer...))

Also a slight mark on one rim (kerbed)

Plus the front tyres would not have passed an MOT.

But there was no acknowledgement of any minor blemishes or issues after I signed - In the words of POTUS - "sad".

They did replace the driver side window button switch set though after I pointed out the problem but this was beforehand - and it should never have been on Selekt like that anyway (IMHO)

Other minor issues have since come to light - the all too common drivers seat control panel is broken due to heavy guys (like me) sliding in and out and compressing the seat cushion too far.

Overall though I am delighted with the car - as I'm sure you will be - just don't let love blind you to the issues

Cheers

Dave

You cannot determine ANYTHING from the DIM display which shows that the CEM has a fault code stored.
You have to read the fault code to know what it is
It could be something minor like the battery went low because someone left the radio running while washing the car - or it could be something serious.

The options range from zero cost to around 1000 GBP of cost.
But you have no idea at all until you connect the Volvo VIDA diagnostic system and interrogate the CEM
