Clicking door mirror mechanism XC90
 

The drivers door mirror has started clicking at the top and bottom of the mirror glass travel, sounds like a plastic ratchet or cog slipping. Noticed it when the mirrors dip for reverse, side to side fine, and no noise from passenger mirror.

Trivial but a dealer trip beckons I think (first other than service in 14 months 15k)

Anyone experienced similar?

Your analysis sounds about right. Should be covered by warranty.

Any signs of external damage on the outer housing?

Nope, few bug splats only!!
