For sale 2 seater volvo s70 t5 se manual 1997 p reg

Very reluctant sale, may decide to keep it if i dont get the money i ask.
I have alwys fell back on this car when my daily runabout has broken down on me. As i have kept it in tip top mechanical condition for reliability.

1997 p reg volvo s70 t5 se saloon manual. 240 bhp

back seats ripped out by my german sheperd dog so fitted a dog cage/box where rear seats where.

Inside smells of dogs and i havent had time to hoover and clean it out inside. But no time or money has been spared on mechanical matters.

I have owned the car since 2007, previous owned by an old gentleman who had to give up driving and go into an old folks home. It was his pride and joy before it become my pride and joy.

For the last 3 years i have only used it in the summer months, parked in a garage during winter times.

I am very reluctant to sell, but i now have two dogs and it wont get used much. I had intended keeping it for years to come and show it when it becomes a classic, but im also hard up for cash so i am considering changing my long term plans.

I am asking £1950 ovno. Or a swap for a volvo v70 xc cross country with lpg fitted. Similar condition.

I am still undecided if i want to sell my s70 t5, but if the price is near to what im asking then i will be tempted.

I know what has been done, oil changes every 6k miles, using castrol, and genuine oil filters. No short cuts or second hand part fitted.

Have a folder full of receipts, a combination of full service history when the old guy had it upto 2007, and parts receipts from the time ive had it. Timing belt was changes in 2008, i think at around 120k miles, for piece of mind. Have receipt of this from garage costing £300, geniune volvo belt and pulleys, fitted at a local vauxhall dealers.

Steering rack replaced with remanufactured one cos it was slightly leaking. Again, everything is perfect and working, including the usual headlight motors which go, receipt for new one in folder.

Pipes, pvc breather pipes, turbo pipes all replaced.

Totally standard, and because it been kept in shape, it still goes like stink as if it had just come out of the factory.

Slight white smoke when cold cos it stand for 6 months through the winter, mot pass no problem, garage said it needs a good run to clear it up, as it usually just has short journeys.

Need new tyres all round very soon, may at next mot in may 2012
taxed till end of september.

If anyone interested in buying, or swaping for a v70 xc cross country on lpg (must have lpg system fitted and working) then please email or phone/ text.

£1950 ovno

please note no test drives, but you can be passenger with me driving, this is because i may keep it yet and i dont want it wrecked.

Forgot to mention, clutch makes a slight noise when letting clutch out pulling away, but it has done this since i got it in 2007 and i have done 40k miles with it without any problems.

To be honest mate I think you need to fit some rear seats in it and loose the dayglo stickers then rethink the price and you may get some offers.

But good luck with the sale.

Hi

thanks for the reply, but as i say, im not desperate to sell. and if i dont sell it i dont want to faff on putting the dog cage back in.

so it will stay as it is, if it goes it goes, if it doesnt, im happy to keep it.

had over 35 views in under 45 minutes, which isnt bad.

No offence intended mate but I think you will be keeping that car, with the amount of work required to bring it up to scratch I think the price is a little optimistic.
Good luck with the sale though.

hi guys

i know what you are saying.
ive seen volvo s70 t5`s on ebay and other places for under £1k. but to tell you the truth, this car to me is worth far more than £1k. ive been using bangers as my main daily runabout, and when theyve gone wrong, me needing a car everyday, ive had to use the t5 as a backup car.
although im skint, £1000 quid will go nowhere to me, and if my bangers fail again, i cant take the dogs on the bus to get about.

so really, id rather keep it, ive got receipts over £3000 for repairs and replacement parts.

but you never know, someone else with another dog who does the same job might snap it out of my hands for £1950. if they dont, ill be happy to let it stand in my mams garage for the next 5 or 10 years, just taking out out for its mot every may.

its costing me nothing keeping it garaged, so i am not loosing out on it by keeping it.

i am however, loosing out on it if i sell it. and im pretty sure ill regret it if i sell it for peanuts.

as you all know, volvos are alot of car for little money, alot of people dont know this until theyve owned one.

you can get a volvo s70 1997 t5 for about 700 quid ive seen on ebay, but they are not appealing to many people.

so, by wanting just under £2k will soothe the pain and i wont regret it as much.

to me, its worth the same value of a new car, such as a ford or vauxhall. cos ive got the reliability to get from a to b and back.

some people think if they pay more for a car they get a better car, i dont think this.

i would describe a "better" car, or a "good" car is a car which serves it purpose, this one to me has and i know it still will, without being a money pit.

so there you have it guys, it can stay advertised till the cows come home, it doent matter to me.

this car isnt price to sell !!

pps

there isnt anything needed to bring the car upto scratch.

a couple of back seats from ebay for £40 and there you have it.

everything has been done to bring it upto scratch.

downt to even the window switch cluter, brand new genuine volvo, headlight motor, brand new, genuine volvo, not a repair job.

new brake calipers, not second hand ones, you name it, its had it.

needs nothing at all.
