Bingo - TCV hoses disconnected
Seems like i've been driving with disconnected Turbo Control hoses !
The turbo started shutting off recently between drives, I sniffed around there and: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5307/imag0277q.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us BANG. Overboosting turbo !!! Here's the cure to my **** MPG.... I need help on where each of the 2 hoses that are disconnected go to ... I thought the yellow one goes to the Boost sensor thingie but theres already a pipe going there (not from the TCV). Detailed description please ? THANK YOU. I HATE THIS *****UP COUNTRY. I PAID OVER 200 DOLLARS TO SOME IDIOT TO ASSEMBLE THIS AND THIS IS WHAT I GET. From now on I do EVERYTHING by myself even if I mess the whole thing up. I am done paying for cowboys. |
Ouch Volvoline. All this time and it was the bloody turbo. I am afraid I can't help that much as I have no idea about turbos. Doesn't vadis have any useful info?
I hate these cowboys. They are the same in Greece too. You pay them silly money to do a job, they mess it up and once you have paid they don't even want to know you. |

Thanks got both nipples on sight, but it seems like theres already something unidentified on the waistgate actuator: (this is the nipple Yellow should go to, right ?)
http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/5132/imag0281o.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us What the hell is that and can I remove that for the yellow TCV hose ? |
Well seems like that pipe wasnt going anywhere... pulled it out and connwcted Yellow.
Red went to the nippe under the main air hose as shown. Still no turbo, I disconnected the batt to try and reset the ECU before i plug it back on. to my understanding the ecu will shut off power if it senses overboosting due to malfunctioning tCV ? |
Reconnected ECU.. still no turbo...............
I'm sick of it.... Scrapping it tomorrow if no solution ... Make offers for small parts if you want. |

Just be patient. Just because some idiot ****ed up the installation does not mean you lose this car. Just be patient and some of the experts here might be able to offer some good advice. |
Well I try... But this is affecting me mentally already, I am sick of opening the damn bonnet twice a day..
It's now throwing generic code P0017 and won't let go even if I reset with Torque. I ran out of money for parts... Got MOT this month too. Yesterday when I got the code (coupled with serious power loss, like it's fitted with 1.0 engine from an Alto) I let it sit without the negative batt lead for the night and in the morning it was fine again giving me enough boost to get to space (but this was before the pipes discovery of today) |
youll sort it im sure.

Maybe try PMing Biotoxic as he took his turbo apart. Or baffler maybe and point them out in this thread in case they missed.. :)
