ebay fake ads

Here is another example of a fake advert:

For a Volvo 122. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/372227233148

The advert has an email address where you can get more information - Except they just want your email address so they can spam you.

If you click on "See other items" you'll see the seller has another 60 classic cars for sale - all with a price of 99p. I've seen the advert for the Volvo before.

Ebay are doing a fairly good job in taking these ads down. It might get taken down soon.

Already done within 30 minutes of you mentioning it.

Was it that green Amazon with the big wheels (18 inch IIRC)?

I've reported that fake add about 10 times now! To be fair to ebay, they normally pull the add pretty sharpish.

I was a little concerned when I came across some power tools for sale for £999 when they are normally £100 odd, and it even said they had sold a number of them.

I thought nobody had been that stupid to pay way over the odds, so I messaged the seller asking about the pricing, and they told me in a well written email that ebay have no way of suspending an item when stock has run out, so what they do it bump the price up until back in stock, so you can still watch it.

I had thought this was some scam, but just a way round an omission in ebay's services.
