Loan car

Just been faffing with the Volvo online booking form to get my car serviced. A bit disappointed that they charge £25 for someone to collect & deliver my car, if I want a loaner they’re charging £35.

Collection charge - that must be dealer (or distance) specific - our local dealer collects FOC

My last service early March, the Volvo dealer they charged me £10 for a loan car for the first time. I queried this as part of the service promise and that i'd never been charged the two years previous. I was informed the 'service promise is to arrange alternative transport'. No word of free.

Had mine serviced 2 weeks ago, had a V40 Inscription as a loaner, no charge.

This seems to vary between dealers, with the wording of the service promise allowing some 'wriggle room'.

I have never been charged for a loan car as such by the dealer I use. There was a period a few years ago when they charged £10 for them to insure the car (it was cheaper than me using my insurance at the time). I have not been charged at all for the past few years.

Just been onto the dealers , car is booked in September 25th. I know I’m a bit previous but the car was new on September 19th , we go on holiday from August 23rd until September 23rd.
My dealer doesn’t have a charge to collect/deliver but under these circumstances that option is available just now . It costs £12 including vat to get a loaner , the charge is for insurance purposes, again that option isn’t available just now.

Currently got a loaner sitting on my drive - no mention of charge today but it's normally 10 quid for insurance so I expect that will be added to the bill. More worryingly despite promises to the contrary the arrangements for social distancing/cleanliness etc are a long way short of what I would have expected to be offered. I'll be giving the DP (at Volvo Shrewsbury) a few thoughts re this later and if I'd known the arrangements were so shambolic I'd have postponed the service and left the car gathering dust on the drive

Re the loaner - an S60 T5 Inscription - pretty rapid and for me surprisingly easy to get into but boy is it jiggly on our local roads

What were the issues around social distancing/cleanliness weemark?

Quite simply there were none beyond a couple of bits of tape on the floor and a single bottle of hand sanitizer

Am in the process of putting together a note for the DP so will cut and paste that here later

My V90 goes in on Friday for it's 18,000 mile service and the dreaded power pulse pipe replacement. Have been told it's £10 for the loan car/insurance fee. Mind you if they give me a S60 T5 to have a run round in, will not grumble.
