I'm afraid you're short by about £30,000 of being a Volvo owner (don't cry too much, we're all in the same boat?!).

Would not recommend you hold you breath. Come on, you've admitted you don't want to pay for the thing! I mean, you've said you don't even want to pay the cost of a Tomtom!

Volvo currently updating the Satnav, which was a rare option even then, on a car not worth £1500 now? Really? Who for?

Me?
You?
The delusional?

But they might... and I'd be glad to be proved wrong.

thank you for your input, geof

It would be nice to have the navigation system working nonetheless, if the vehicle has an in-built system, why not seek to get it updated?
How would the questioner go about this?
Cyffo.

That looks like a 2012 disc - there are newer ones - I recently bought this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LATEST-20...72.m2749.l2649 which is the 2015-6 disc for my 2004 V70 SE T5

Hi guys,
Sorry folks,
But the 2004 C70 RTI system is CD based. where the 2004 V70 is a DVD system and not compatible.
The only way to update is to replace the whole system with a DVD kit that fits behind the glove compartment.
There is a guy on this forum that repairs all our RTI units and our CD players, he might have repaired second hand units for sale.
Good luck,
Joe.
Ps, if you can't sort it, can I be first in line for your remote control for the CD RTI....lol.
cheers
Joe.

Thanks for all the intersting contributions to this thread. All very informative.
Mine's a V70, the DVDs that accompany it are:
Volvo RTI Navteq, there are three DVDs in total.
There's no indication of the year that the were produced.
Despite being fairly clunky with limited on-screen graphics, the system is useful for alerting me to traffic diversions and other issues that may occur on the planned route.

The date is shown next to the copyright symbol on the edge of the disc to the left of the vehicle list.

Cuffo Oct 18th, 2019 18:23

The date at the rim of the DVDs is 2005.
Only fourteen years old then.
