2000 volvo v70 Headlamp assembly motor replacement
Hi all,
I have a P80 V70. The reflector inside my left side headlamp assembly is sort of degraded. I am thinking of replacing it. I checked with a Volvo dealer and they gave me a quote of €340. The problem is that most of the third party part does not come with headlight adjustment motor. The volvo original comes with it. I checked with a local part store and they said I could transfer the adjustment motor to the new headlamp assembly. The third party part they are having is from Depo and it costs €99. Could you please tell me if it is easy to replace the motor myself. I couldn't find any videos related to it. Thanking you all in advance for your replies. Hope to hear from yo usoon Regards D |
Headlamp replacements
Depending on how long you intend to keep the car, the best route is to get a pair of replacement headlamps with manual adjustment motor and bulbs included. I got a pair for £397 two years ago from a Volvo dealer. It's better to buy a pair as the reflectors on both will have deteriorated after nearly 20 years.

Try PFS parts,

Yes, very easy to swap the electric adjustment motor - can't remember the details exactly right now, but super simple to work on, it'll be pretty obvious once you get the light out, which is also really easy, one connector and 3 x bolts all of which are readily accessible. Definitely not worth spending so much extra to get a replacement light with it already fitted!

Hi,
Thank you all for your replies. I think I will go with the 3rd party part and swap the motors. I am also thinking of replacing both sides at the same time. Regards D Quote:
