Lamba light

Hi,

After disconecting the maf to do the top engine mount, the car has put the lamba light on, on start up with the maf connected, getting code 1-2-1 and will not reset,
Since i have owned the car it has always revved high between gear change and tick over is around 1100 rpm- hoping this is maf related,
I hear these engines are fussy if not run on a bosch maf, does anyone know if this is correct?

Thanks, Craig.

Clear the "led code" by shorting the terminals on the contact block as per instructions.

Then do a cold reset - turn the ignition off, do not lock the car. After 10 minutes disconnect the battery, AFTER THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED short/cross connect the +ve and -ve cables that would normally be connected to the battery.

Then, making sure that the light switch is turned to the dipped beam position, turn the ignition key to position II.

Reconnect the battery.

Go to the terminal block and check to make sure no LED flash codes are shown when using the fly lead. If any are found repeat the process allowing at least 20 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

Allow the car to idle in neutral for 20 minutes before driving - if the vehicle is an auto allow to idle in D with the hand brake on and the driving wheels chocked before driving. This process resets the ecu/ecm and "re-educates " the system. Drive the car around normal roads for 15 to 20 minutes to re-stablish normal driving learned condition.

It might be worth checking the connector block connection contacts are electrically clean as well as making sure that the wires/blocks/loom connectors etc to the MAF are still intact.

Did you clean the MAF? If you did, which cleaner did you use as Volvo MAFs can be a little temperamental if "Throttle Body Cleaner" is used instead of dedicated MAF cleaner:GEEK:

Disconnected the battery and removed the ecu for 48 hours, this has turned the lamba light off,,. (for now).

Craig.
