Does my s80 have a smart alternator or a traditional one

Hello. I have a 2006 gen 2 volvo s80. I had to replace my alternator once and so I bought one from Euro car parts as they supposedly get the exact parts right for your make and model.

I have several other issues with my volvo, so I brough my car to a volvo specialised mechanic to do some diagnostics on other faults. When I went to pick up the car he noted that he's not sure we have the correct alternator, a smart alternator is what he called it.

Did some research online and found out that the noticable difference is the voltage, that smart alternators have around 12.5-13.5 V and traditional alternator around 14 V. Checked my replacement at it's a 14V alternator.

The question is one that I've been stuggling to find myself. Does my volvo use a smart or a traditional alternator. A 14 V one or a lower voltage one?

Thanks.
