Wanted Your Faulty S60/S70/V70 Necam Stepper Motors

£30 paid for your non-working Necam Stepper Motors. I'm only interested in unmolested Volvo specific Necam flat-top motors. Not the generic motors fitted to some S60, Transits, Vauxhalls and Saabs etc. If it came off a V70 or S70 you definitely have what I'm after, if it came off an S60 look at the pic, does it have a flat top like that?.. I want yours too.

PM me.

stepper

hi im swapping over my faulty s60 stepper motor over the weekend if any good, cheers. ps any idea how i remove distributer, looks easier to get that out then remove stepper and i can check and clean dist before refitting.

On my early V70 it is a n easy job, I regularly jsut take out the stepper to give it a clean, a 2 minute job. I think a S60 has it buried like all later models, so a comparitive 'cowson' to do.

If your stepper is the type I specify and I'm assuming flat top as pic, I want it. You'll know if you ahve the non-Volov generic version (not flat top) because when you buy a new one, it'll only cost you £50 , not £250 and fix your issues.

I'll PM you.

Stepper Motor

Hi

Do you repair these stepper motors??

I have a S60 bi fuel and its doing a bit of stuttering when on Gas after about 15 miles and I need to switch it over to petrol.... I've read the forum and a lot of people mention that the cause could be the stepper motor??

Cheers D

Symptoms sounds a lot like the stepper. Don't come on here often, yes I recon these. They have design faults I am sure Necam could correct if they chose to do so. I have steppers ready to run, exchange at £150 a go. Sorted, I would say better than a new one.

Hey, I cannot PM you since you being an Admin, I need to wait for 30 messages to enable that. So here goes the message:
Quote:

"Hi there, I noticed you were buying untouched Necam steppers.

Not sure you also want the S80 one. I replaced mine on the S80 bi-fuel, with another that I might be able to sell you.

I write "might" because I am still trying to solve the issue. That stepper had a minor leakage, so I was considering getting a refitted one but instead I found a used that did not leak, but after a couple weeks the problem is back.

So, either I send it to you for refitting (I thought about doing it myself with the £30 gasket set) or if this is solved with an ECU update, I can just sell it as I do not it here.

I have spent all day researching about this issue (common problem of switching to petrol, not switching back etc etc) so I feel tempted on asking you for advice, but do not want to bother you.

But in the end, either way we might be in touch again.

regards
Leonel"

Very kind, thanks a lot. Except for the costs on petrol (instead of LPG) I am rather happy with my Volvo... wanted to keep it. LOL

Yes, I did. Maybe he reads it here and answer by PM.

Don't come on here as often as I might. Buy my kit and I will tell you what I know. I can almost guarantee to have you running. I've PM'ed you.

Do you help people to repair their own rather than have to buy your recon units?
Is there a procedure you could post up?
